  • Bills offense falls flat in 9-3 loss to Panthers

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – After looking stellar in their Week One win over the Jets, the Bills were brought back to reality on Sunday with a 9-3 loss to Carolina.
    Trailing by six with two minutes to play, Tyrod Taylor led the Bills down the field on what looked like to be a potential game-winning drive, but failed to convert on 4th-and-11.
    Rookie receiver Zay Jones was open but Taylor’s pass went off his hands and fell incomplete as Buffalo dips to 1-1 on the year.

    LONDON (AP) — British officials have lowered the country’s terrorist threat level from `critical’ to `severe’.
    The move comes a day after a second suspect in the subway bombing was arrested. The 21 year old man was taken into custody Saturday night under England’s Terrorism Act.  British police spent Sunday searching the man’s home in the London suburb of Stanwell which is located about 15 miles south of London.

    PARIS (AP) — Four young female U.S. tourists have been attacked with acid in Marseille’s main train station by a woman who has been arrested, the Marseille prosecutor’s office says.
    A spokeswoman for the prosecutor office told The Associated Press that two of the tourists have been injured in the face in the attack Sunday in the Saint Charles train station and one of them has a possible eye injury. She says all four of the tourists, who are in their 20s, have been h
  • Buffalo Police search for gunman in triple shooting

     
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)— Buffalo police continue to investigate a shooting that left 3 men wounded.
    The shooting happened at 9:30 p.m. Saturday night near the intersection of Holden Street and Jewett Avenue.
    Police have not released the names of the victims, but say they are 23, 27 and 40 years old. All were taken to ECMC and all are expected to survive.

    WEST SENECA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Hundreds of people lined up outside the Erie County SPCA Saturday hoping to take a cat or dog home.
    It was all for the Empty the Shelters event.

    PENDLETON, N.Y. (WIVB) — Saturday marked a milestone for the Mason’s Mission Foundation.
    State and local leaders, alongside the Mason’s Mission Foundation, cut the ribbon on a brand new, all-inclusive playground in Pendleton.
    The concept of the playground was inspired by Jason and Jennifer Evchich’s sons Mason and Matthew, who both have a rare progressive genetic disease that affects their brain and spinal cords.
    Mason and Matthew can’t play on regular playgrounds.

    TOWN OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Fire crews quick actions likely saved a Days Inn from going up in flames.
    Members of the Brighton Volunteer Fire Department were called to the hotel on Niagara Falls Boulevard around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, after smoke was coming from an occupied room.

  • Man wanted in connection to burglaries & thefts at UB dorms

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — University at Buffalo Police are searching for a man they say is responsible for a string of burglaries and thefts in the dorms.
    Police say the crimes have been happening since the end of July.
    Police say 20-year-old Darnell Cleveland is the suspect in seven burglaries. There is a warrant out for his arrest. Police say he is not a student at UB.
    They were able to pin point Cleveland thanks to surveillance video and other evidence found during the investigations.
