• BPD on the scene after child hit by car at Jersey & Busti

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- Buffalo Police are on the scene of a crash at the intersection of Busti Ave. and Jersey St.
    Officers say a vehicle struck a child riding a bike Sunday afternoon. The child appears to have serious injuries.
    Police were still at the scene around 4:30 pm on Sunday.
    This is a developing story, we will keep you updated as soon as more information is available.
  • 9-year-old dies after being hit by car in Buffalo

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo Police say a nine-year-old boy has died after being hit by a vehicle.
    The crash happened around 3:40 p.m. Sunday at Busti Avenue and Jersey.
    Police say the boy was riding a bike when he was hit and suffered serious injuries. He was taken to Women and Children’s Hospital where he died.
    Buffalo Police accident investigators say the driver stopped after the crash and at this time no charges have been filed.
    Police are continuing to investigate.

    The victory also puts Buffalo in first place in the AFC East.
    LeSean McCoy ran for a game-high 110 yards and also hauled in five passes for 49 yards.
    Taylor also became the Bills all-time leading rusher for a quarterback, passing Joe Ferguson with 1,174 career yards.

    TAMPA BAY (AP) – Florida authorities have issued another stern warning about Hurricane Irma: Shooting bullets into the storm won’t help keep you safe.

    (AP) – The National Hurricane Center says Category 4 Hurricane Irma is now “headed for the southwest Florida coast” as winds continue to pick up speed in all of South Florida.

    MACHIAS, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Hamburg man has been charged with sending explicit pictures to juveniles.
    Michael C. McFarland, 19, of Hamburg, was charged Sept. 6 with first degree and second degree disseminating indecent material to a minor and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

    DUNKIRK, N.Y. (WIVB) – A fire caused by hydrochloric acid broke out Sunday morning at Specialty Steeel, 836 Brigham Road.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man has been arrested after a hostage situation on Broadway.
    Buffalo Police say it lasted about three hours and ended when the suspect surrendered.
    Police were called to the 1900 block of Broadway around 11 p.m. Friday.
