• Major Crash Closes Portion Of 695 During Monday Afternoon Commute

    ROSEDALE, Md. (WJZ) —  Authorities are on scene of a major crash on 695 near Route 702 in Rosedale. All traffic has been diverted to the shoulder.
    At least one person was rescued from a vehicle involved in the crash, and taken from the scene by ambulance.
    It is not yet known if there were any additional injuries reported.

    LAUREL, Md. (WJZ) —  The Patuxent Wildlife Research Center in Laurel is working to bring the population of Whooping Cranes back from the brink of extinction.

    TOWSON, Md. (WJZ) — A gas leak was reported in the Rodgers Forge area Monday afternoon.

    WASHINGTON (AP/WJZ) — Authorities say a dog attacked and killed a woman inside her Washington home.
    Citing an email from a Metropolitan Police Department spokeswoman, news outlets report that the fatal dog attack was reported Sunday around 6:30 p.m.

  • Former Howard County Police Officer Pleads Guilty For Misconduct, Falsifying Overtime

    HOWARD COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) — A former Howard County officer plead guilty Monday to misconduct in officer for falsifying overtime documents and taking payments from the police department that he did not earn.
    According to police, 41-year-old Clate Moton-Jackson of Sabillasville was charged with one misdemeanor count and was ordered to pay $15,000 in restitution.

    BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ) — A man was found guilty on Tuesday of sexually abusing a 9-year-old girl multiple times in 2014.
    The girl testified that the husband of her babysitter, 54-year-old Jorge Fuentes, had molested her several times while under their care.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Ravens offensive lineman Alex Lewis has been released from the hospital and will fly back to Baltimore after being taken off the field on a stretcher during Sunday’s game against the Titans.

  • Police Still Searching For Driver In Fatal Hit-And-Run Crash

    LOCHEARN, Md. (WJZ) — Police in Baltimore County are still working to identify the driver in a fatal hit-and-run accident early Saturday morning.
    Police responded to the area of Liberty Road near Croydon Road in Baltimore County around 3:30 a.m. for a report of a pedestrian struck by a car.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A new traffic campaign that starts on Monday is hoping to change driving habits in Baltimore.
    The Baltimore City Department of Transportation will start fining motorists for blocking intersections, or the box, between traffic lights.
    Motorists will be fined $125 if they are found to be blocking the box.
