  • Bodies Of 11 Infants Found In Ceiling Of Closed Funeral Home

    (CBS NEWS) — The bodies of 11 babies were discovered Friday in a Detroit funeral home that was shut down six months ago. Police made the gruesome discovery at the Cantrell Funeral Home after they received an anonymous tip.
    Police said eight or nine bodies were found in a cardboard box and the others in one or more caskets, all hidden in a ceiling. Police ordered a search of the building to ensure there are no additional bodies inside.

  • Police Search For Driver In Fatal Hit-and-Run In Baltimore County

    LOCHEARN, Md. (WJZ) — Police in Baltimore County are looking to identify the driver in a fatal hit-and-run accident early Saturday morning.
    Police responded to the area of Liberty Road near Croydon Road in Baltimore County around 3:30 a.m. for a report of a pedestrian struck by a car.
    The crash team investigators determined the 27-year-old man was crossing Liberty Road when he was struck by a car traveling east on the roadway.

    BRANDY STATION, Va. (AP) — Virginia State Police say an Ohio man who was flying a small plane has died after the aircraft crashed.
    Police said in a news release Saturday night that Jon S. Thocker of Cincinnati was the only occupant of the plane. The news release says a preliminary investigation revealed the plane was conducting “aerodynamic maneuvers” when it crashed into a field in Culpeper County Friday night. No one on the ground was injured.

    CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — Five puppies that were among 200 rescued from a meat farm in South Korea are looking for new homes in Virginia.
    The Daily Progress reports the pups arrived in Charlottesville on Monday. They have been quarantined since at the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA, receiving medical treatment and being spayed and neutered.

    TANEYTOWN, Md. (WJZ) — Police are looking for Makaylynn Howe, a 16-year-old girl who was last seen at a bus stop in Taneytown, Md.
    Howe was last seen at around 3 p.m. Friday afternoon at the bus stop located at Grand Drive and Fairground Ave.

  • Police Investigating Fatal Motorcycle Crash In South Baltimore

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Police are investigating a fatal crash in South Baltimore Friday night.
    At around 5 p.m., a motorcycle was traveling westbound in the 1300 block of W. Patapsco Avenue.
    Investigators believe the operator lost control of the motorcycle before it crashed.
    The motorcycle was operated by a 47-year-old man. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
    The passenger on the motorcycle was a 34-year-old woman. She was taken to an area hospital where she died from her injuries.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A man was sentenced 25 years in federal prison Friday for charges including producing child pornography.
    Martin Hall, 56, of Reisterstown, Md., was sentenced 25 years in prison, followed by a lifetime supervised release for traveling from the U.S. to the Philippines to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minor, producing child pornography with intent to take it back to the United States.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Waze has rolled out a new carpool app nationwide.
    Drivers who are willing to give someone a ride can use the app to connect. Passengers will pay a small fee that will cover just enough for gas and tolls.

    The Baltimore City Department of Transportation restored bus services Friday.
