    Wagamama looks like it’s close to opening, at last
    After more than two years of anticipation, Wagamama appears to be preparing to open its Clarendon outpost.
    Holes in the brown paper covering the windows reveal a mostly complete interior, with elaborate lighting fixtures and glowing point-of-sale system screens. A large “WAGAMAMA” sign can also be seen near the front entrance, ready to mount on the exterior.

    Starbucks is expanding at the Lee Heights Shops.
    Construction is currently in progress to add the former storefront of Facets Fine Jewelry to the current footprint of the Starbucks at 4526 Cherry Hill Road.
    In addition to the interior expansion, the project will provide more outdoor seating for patrons, according to permits. The company told ARLnow that it expects the location to reopen later this summer.

    New York-based ice cream chain Van Leeuwen expects to open its Crystal City location next month.
    The shop will occupy retail space underneath The Grace, the new apartment tower at 269 19th Court S. The shop is planning on an early June opening.

    A teen was robbed of a phone, cash and an electric scooter by a pair of gun-wielding suspects near Wakefield High School.
    That’s according to the latest Arlington County Police Department crime report.
    The alleged incident happened in late March on the 1400 block of S. Dinwiddie Street. Police were first told of the armed robbery Friday night.
    “At approximately 8:29 p.m. on May 17, police were dispatched to the late report of an armed robbery,” said the crime report.
