    UPDATED: Police investigating shot fired in Westover
    (Updated at 11:55 a.m.) Arlington County police are investigating a gunshot fired in the Westover neighborhood.
    Initial reports suggest that a resident of a garden apartment building on the 5800 block of Washington Blvd heard a gunshot and then found a bullet in their residence.
    Police are now on scene and trying to sort out what happened. Officers have recovered a gun, a police spokeswoman says.

    Arlington has failed to collect more than $1 million in security alarm registration fees over the past four years, according to county data.

    Arlington County is experiencing a rash of liquor store thefts and robberies this year.
    The county is often seeing multiple thefts per day from Virginia ABC stores — and yesterday was no exception.
    Around 4 p.m., police responded to the ABC store at 1001 N. Fillmore Street in Clarendon for a report of someone who stole three bottles of liquor before driving off in a Nissan with D.C. tags. Then another theft was reported from the ABC store at 2955A S. Glebe Road.
