  Juneau’s electric utility thinks a bird or squirrel caused a power outage late Sunday morning.
  Debbie Driscoll with Alaska Electric Light and Power Company said the outage lasted for almost an hour.

  MIAMI — The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a nationwide recall on Mibelas 24 Fe birth control tablets, CBS Miami reports.
  The packages were “rotated 180 degrees within the wallet, reversing the weekly tablet orientation and making the lot number and expiration date no longer visible,” the agency said.

  Two events came together to celebrate diversity in Mountain View.
  Catholic Social Services celebrated World Refugee Day while Mountain View held their Street Fair, Saturday afternoon. Performers from the Somali and Congolese community were there.

• Alaska wildfires top 100,000 acres

  The Alaska wildfire season has officially hit the 100,000-acre mark as of Saturday morning.
  Wildfires have torched almost 112,000 acres according to the Alaska Interagency Coordination Center — That’s split between 195 fires so far this year.
  More than 100,000 of the acres burned have been in western and southwestern Alaska, and that number is expected to climb.

• Suspect wanted in fatal hit-and-run

  Anchorage police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run in east Anchorage Saturday night.
  Police say it happened in the area of the 5600 block of East 4th Avenue — off of Boniface.
  The suspect’s vehicle is described as a blue Mercedes SUV, possibly an ML320 or ML30, with either a chrome front grill or brush guard. It may have front-end damage to the hood and windshield, police said.

  KODIAK, Alaska (AP) — Officials from the spaceport on Kodiak Island are hosting a town hall meeting to answer questions about the Missile Defense Agency’s plans to test a U.S.-Israeli anti-ballistic missile system in Alaska.

  JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — The Coast Guard Cutter Bailey Barco is being commissioned in Alaska on June 14.
  The Juneau Empire reports the 154-foot (47-meter) Fast Response Cutter will be the second of its kind to be commissioned in Alaska.
  The ceremony is taking place in Juneau. The ship recently arrived in Ketchikan, its homeport, after sailing up from Key West, Florida. It will share the port with Alaska’s other Fast Response Cutter, the CGC John McCormick, also homeported in Ketchikan.

• Missing hiker found dead in Yellowstone National Park

  MAMMOTH HOT SPRINGS, Wyo. — Searchers have found the body of a 53-year-old man who was reported missing in Yellowstone National Park.
