  LYONS, Colo. — An Alaska man is suspected of trying to kill his wife by trying to force their car off the road and into oncoming traffic during a holiday visit to Colorado.

• Fire burns Anchorage sushi restaurant; no injuries reported

  ANCHORAGE — Fire has heavily damaged a restaurant in south Anchorage.Dispatchers received a call shortly after 4:15 a.m. Tuesday regarding a fire at Haru Sushi on Dimond Boulevard, Anchorage television station KTVA reports.
  Firefighting crews arrived two minutes later and found the building engulfed in flames.
  Anchorage Fire Department assistant chief Alex Boyd says the building partially collapsed.
  Seventeen fire department vehicles responded.

  A front moving in from the west will bring light snow showers to southcentral Alaska late Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. Snowfall of 1 to 3 inches is likely for Anchorage, the Mat-Su, Turnagain Arm and Portage Valley.
  Dry and sunny weather is likely Wednesday afternoon and evening before a second storm brings additional snowfall to the region Friday.

• Young fisherman missing for two-plus days found

  A young Old Harbor fisherman who went missing in Kodiak early Christmas morning has been located, according to the Kodiak Police Department.
  Gary Alexanderoff Jr. had been last seen about 3 a.m. Sunday heading to St. Herman Harbor from downtown Kodiak, however there were no details released as to his whereabouts since then.

• New Fairbanks surgery center close to opening for patients

  FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) – The Fairbanks Memorial Hospital’s new $88 million surgery center is on track to be fully operational this spring.
  The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports that construction on the 90,000-square-foot facility began in spring 2015 and is expected to be complete by mid-April.

  The building of a sushi restaurant, located in the middle of Anchorage’s bustling Dimond Boulevard, partially collapsed early Tuesday morning, according to Anchorage Fire Department assistant chief Alex Boyd.
  Although the cause of the blaze is still under investigation, Boyd said 911 dispatch was called to Haru Sushi at 4:17 a.m. Less than a minute later, firefighting crews found the building under heavy fire, Boyd added.  In total, 17 units responded.

  Christmas is supposed to be about peace and joy, but Anchorage police say this Christmas Eve was the deadliest day of the year — with three homicides in less than 24 hours.
