  An Alaska school district is facing a lawsuit from a former student after an ex-tutor was convicted of forcing him into sex.
  The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District had 15 days to respond to a Nov. 30 letter from the former Tanana Middle School student’s attorney before a civil lawsuit is filed. The Board of Education will evaluate options Monday.

• Calista elders to receive $325 from Elder Benefits program

  The Calista Regional Native Corporation has announced that original elder shareholders will receive $325.  This is under a program known as the Elder Benefit Dividend, according to a report published by KYUK Public Media.

• Juneau man medevaced to Anchorage after shooting between friends, police say

  A Juneau man is being treated at an Anchorage hospital after his friend shot him during an argument, according to the Juneau Police Department.
  Gunshots were reported at 9:47 p.m. on the 5200 block of the Glacier Highway. Shortly after that, a 21-year-old man called police to say he was involved in a shooting.

  The Hilltop Ski Area was shut down Sunday morning while police searched for a  suspect who allegedly shot at them, according to an alert from the Anchorage Police Department.

• The Latest: Feds say plane presumably crashed in Alaska lake

  The National Park Service says an airplane carrying four people is presumed to have crashed into an Alaska lake shortly after taking off for Anchorage.
  The service on Friday also released the identities of the four people on board, including a father and his two teenage children.
  Officials said the missing included the pilot, Lyle Longerbeam. The passengers are Scott Blom and his teenage children, Kaitlyn Blom and Zach Blom. All are from Port Alsworth.

• Police: Suspect in Fred Meyer bank robbery caught in nearby mall

  A man police say likely robbed a midtown bank Saturday afternoon has been taken into custody thanks to the help of an observant witness.
  The robbery was reported around 12:10 p.m. at the Alaska USA located inside the Northern Lights Boulevard Fred Meyer, police said in a statement.
