Recipe Box: Family Pizza Night
Pizza night is sometimes a go-to for busy parents, and for good reason! It’s quick, easy and there’s really no clean-up involved.
But if it’s becoming more of a daily routine, it could be argued that quality is being compromised for convenience.
In this week’s Recipe Box, Amanda Cash, Anchorage mom and owner of The Magpie food truck, revamps the sacred pizza night tradition into a fun family affair.
Cash says the best part about ditching delivery is the ability to make am -
Poll workers are hoping for calm but preparing for the worst
via ktoo.org
At a hearing last month on the possible hacking of voting machines, Louisiana Secretary of State Tom Schedler said he was more worried about something else. The real threat on Election Day, said Schedler, is violence at the polls.
Poll workers across the country are on high alert after the recent firebombing of a Republican Party headquarters in North Carolina and reports that two armed men lingered for hours outside a Democratic campaign office in Virginia. Some feel that Donald Trump’s c -

via ktoo.org
ANCHORAGE — The principal of an Anchorage elementary school has apologized after the school sent a message urging action against proposed marijuana businesses.

The message called for parents to testify against cannabis businesses applying to open near Campbell Elementary School.
Alaska voters in 2014 approved legalizing the recreational use of mariju -
New rules would require airlines to refund baggage fees for delayed luggage
via ktoo.org
Many travelers have resigned themselves to paying $25 or more to check a bag when flying. But that fee becomes especially onerous when the bag doesn’t show up on the carousel at baggage claim.
The White House is proposing a new rule that would require airlines to refund the checked baggage fee if luggage is “substantially delayed,” though it does not define “substantially.”
NPR aviation reporter David Schaper says airlines are already required to compensate passenge -
The Hungry Chum: Fresh new flavors meet old school soul at City Diner
A three-part harmony, a good burger and a cold milkshake are part of what made America great. Not so common anymore, diners call us back to a time of bobby socks, a good jukebox and leather-topped stools where one could belly up for some grub.
My grandfather used to tell me that as a bachelor, he would go to a diner every Thanksgiving to get a turkey dinner. The image has had a Norman Rockwell-esque staying power in my mind since I was small. That, along with a hangover, drew me to City Diner in -

The incinerator at the Dillingham landfill has been clean-burning trash for a little over a year now.
While it’s doing a good job of cutting down the volume of material that gets buried in limited cell space, it’s not proving as cost efficient to operate as hoped.
The Pennram incinerator needs diesel fuel to operate, mainly to get up to te -
