  A new dental health facility is set to be unveiled Friday in Dillingham.Representatives say the Bristol Bay Area Health Corp. is set to hold a public celebration of the opening of its facility Friday afternoon in the town of nearly 2,400.

  A grand jury has indicted an Anchorage man suspected of a fatal hit-and-run crash.The grand jury Thursday indicted 20-year-old Quinton Molinar on counts of second-degree murder, manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident and evidence tampering in the death of 71-year-old pedestrian James Hawke.

• Woman critically injured in shooting at Anchorage home

  Anchorage police are investigating a shooting that left a woman critically injured on the city’s east side.Police just before 11 p.m. Thursday took a call of a shooting at a home on Alora Loop northeast of Russian Jack Springs Park.
  Officers and medics found the woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was rushed to a hospital.

• Fort Wainwright army band prepares for move to Anchorage

  The U.S. Army has announced plans to move interior Alaska’s 9th Army Band to Anchorage next month.The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports the Fort Wainwright band will transfer to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson Oct. 16.   A federal appeals court has ruled in favor of a state commercial fishing organization that challenged a decision to move several southern Alaska salmon fisheries from federal to state management.
