  A teenage girl was reported killed after being struck by a pickup truck Saturday night on the Balboa Peninsula.
  The Newport Beach Police Department issued an advisory at 7:32 p.m. Saturday, saying that it had shut down eastbound Balboa Street at westbound Palm Street due to a traffic collision.
  Several TV broadcast reports said the pedestrian was a 14-year-old girl. Police did not immediately confirm the victim’s, death, age or gender.

  A teenager was killed after being struck by a pickup truck Saturday night on the Balboa Peninsula.
  The victim was a 14-year-old girl, Newport Beach Police Sgt. Steven Oberon said Sunday morning.
  The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Police shut down eastbound Balboa Street at westbound Palm Street.
  Details of what led to the crash were not available. The driver reportedly remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.
