  PITTSBURGH — Angels pitchers have very little margin for error these days, and certainly not enough to overcome it when one bad inning includes a grand slam.
  Tyler Anderson gave up a third-inning grand slam to Edward Olivares and that was all the Pittsburgh Pirates needed to beat the Angels, 4-1, on Monday night.
  Anderson didn’t give up anything else in 6⅓ innings, which was little consolation on a night when the Angels (12-23) dropped a season-worst 11 games under .500.

  A San Diego County judge has set a June 10 special hearing for a former high-ranking Orange County prosecutor, now a judge, to testify about his alleged misconduct in a 2010 murder case.
  Orange County Superior Court Judge Ebrahim Baytieh, the original prosecutor in the case, has been subpoenaed to take the witness stand on allegations that he withheld evidence that may have been beneficial to the defense.

  The Spartans had no runs and one hit through six innings. With two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, Villa Park’s Nathaniel Pone hit a fly ball over the head of Huntington Beach’s left fielder to drive in the winning run for a 2-1 victory.
