    A girl who was a passenger on a flight leaving Los Angeles International Airport died Thursday evening.
    The girl was on a Delta flight bound for Seattle when she suffered a medical emergency, possibly a cardiac arrest, ABC7 reported.
    The flight returned to a gate and Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded at 5:53 p.m. They worked aggressively to save her life, but she was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the department’s Margaret Stewart and Los Angeles Airport Police.

    Tony Award-winning composer Jerry Herman, who wrote the cheerful, good-natured music and lyrics for such classic shows as “Mame,” “Hello, Dolly!” and “La Cage aux Folles,” died Thursday. He was 88.
