    All five Orange County high school football teams that won CIF-Southern Section championships continue their seasons this week in the CIF Southern California Regional Championships.
    All of them are playing for the first time in the regional games which are part of the CIF State playoffs. Four of the county teams have home games on Friday or Saturday.

    NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans police are investigating a mass shooting that wounded 10 people early Sunday near the city’s famed French Quarter.
    Two of the 10 were in critical condition in local hospitals, Police Superintendent Shaun Ferguson said. No arrests were announced by midday Sunday.
    “What happened in our city overnight was a cowardly and senseless act that we cannot and will not tolerate,” Ferguson said in a statement.

    The Kings have had a split personality this season.

    EL SEGUNDO — For the first time in weeks, Avery Bradley hit the practice floor.
    There was some good news Saturday following Bradley’s medical re-evaluation: The Lakers’ starting guard was cleared to start “basketball progression.” But the nebulous term means Bradley, who has dealt with a hairline fracture in his right leg, has further to go. He will also miss at least four more games, bringing his total to 13 missed starts for the 17-2 Lakers.

    Returning from its first road trip of the season, the UCLA men’s basketball team is back at Pauley Pavilion to face San Jose State on Sunday.
