    Customers hoping to get their weekend shopping done at Costco in Yorba Linda were surprised to find that the store was without power Saturday afternoon, Nov. 30.

    A large boulder careened down a nearby slope, crashed onto the paved road below, bounced off a recently installed fire hydrant and broke its way through the fence into Maria Arechaederra’s sideyard sometime either Wednesday night or Thursday morning, she said.

    Six people were rescued from the south side of Catalina Island after their boat ran aground near Catalina Harbor Saturday morning, Nov. 30, authorities said.
    Los Angeles County Fire Department lifeguards responded to the vessel, a 43-foot trawler, about 6:30 a.m., dispatch supervisor Ed Pickett said.

    Black Friday shoppers at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa were temporarily stalled by a two-hour, partial power outage Friday afternoon, Nov. 29, authorities said.
