    An El Modena High School student died this week after apparently crashing a school golf cart on campus into a pole, Orange police said on Wednesday.
    Officers were called to the campus on East Spring Street at around 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, after the crash, Sgt. Phil McMullin said.
    “He was on some sort of campus golf cart … and he ended up crashing,” McMullin said.

    California lawmakers sent the governor a bill Wednesday that would give new wage and benefit protections to workers at so-called gig economy companies such as Uber and Lyft where people pick up jobs on their own schedule.

    Since Hope Community Church of Anaheim held its first Sunday service in the Katella High School cafeteria 17 years ago, the congregation has gathered to worship in public parks, a retirement home, a high school theater, a private residence and, for the past several years, at the Anaheim Downtown Community Center.
