Arroyo Seco Weekend: These activities brought out creative spirits and made new connections
At a giant festival, it’s usually the music that brings people together.
However, local Pasadena organizations had that same goal of connection by setting up interactive arts and crafts stations during Arroyo Seco Weekend.
Pop up shops were sprinkled around festival grounds, providing interactive activities for music fans to participate in between seeing their favorite bands.

Is the Los Angeles Unified School District ‘too big to fail’?
The term “too big to fail” entered the popular lexicon a decade ago when the federal government rescued huge banking corporations that were collapsing due to rampant greed and managerial incompetence.
The phrase might be applied today, with a question mark, to the state’s largest — and nation’s second largest — school district, Los Angeles Unified, whose leaders seem to assume that no matter how irresponsibly they act, the state will rescue them.

For years U.S. officials variously demanded, urged, and begged European governments to increase military outlays. For years the Europeans reduced spending, manpower, and procurement. There has been a slight uptick under President Donald Trump, but most NATO members are not going to come close to meeting the official standard of two percent of GDP for defense.
Now Poland, which fell just short of that level last year, is requesting Washington to establish a permanent base and garrison. Warsaw pro

Right now, they’re only half right.
Grandal and Barnes continue to rank in the upper echelon of catchers defensively, particularly in the area of pitch framing – the skill most prized by new-age evaluators like the Dodgers’ front office. But offensively, the duo has been far from elite.
