Whew. We made it back. My new mantra to stay young is “Do things that scare you.” And one of the things that scared me was driving all the way down to Bahia de Los Angeles, halfway down the Baja peninsula.
The reason it scares me is because you have to drive over two harrowing mountain ranges along Baja Highway 1 to get there, where the motto apparently is “We don’t need no stinking guardrails.” And 100 miles of burning desert, beautiful but as desolate as the moon.
