    A San Clemente doctor has been placed on seven years state Medical Board probation after pleading guilty to aiding the practice of unlicensed medicine.
    Dr. Eva Gentile reached the settlement with the board, which includes the requirement that she hire a monitor to oversee her billing and ensure that she practices medicine safely, the documents say.

    Two people were killed early Monday morning, July 17, when two vehicles crashed on the transition from the 55 freeway to the 22 freeway in Orange, authorities said.
    According to the Orange County coroner, one person was pronounced dead at the scene and a man later died at 2:46 a.m. at Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana.
    The crash was reported just before 2 a.m. on the transition from the northbound 55 freeway to the westbound 22, according to the California Highway Patrol.

    LA HABRA    A 30-year-old man was arrested early Sunday, July 16,  after police found him in a neighborhood bar with a loaded handgun in his belt, police said.
    Ramon Hernandez, of La Habra, was arrested for possession of a firearm after a woman at the Hot Shots Bar in the 1500 block of E. La Habra called police, said Sgt. Jose Rocha.
    Hernandez also had no gun license, Rocha said.

    NEW YORK – George Romero, whose classic “Night of the Living Dead” and other horror films turned zombie movies into social commentaries and who saw his flesh-devouring undead spawn countless imitators, remakes and homages, has died. He was 77.
