  PLACITAS, N.M. (KRQE) – Two people were caught red-handed trying to break into some mailboxes but they went to great and dangerous lengths to try to get away. It happened around 2:00 Tuesday morning in Placitas.

• Driving school aims to combat street racing

  ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Sandia Speedway is teaming up with Bernalillo County Commissioners in an effort to combat street racing. The Sandia Speedway is offering the Charlie Fegan Performance Driving School.
  Drivers will learn the basics of racing in a safe environment. Then, the driver will have their chance to get behind the wheel, on a professional racetrack, instead of on the streets.

  ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque police need your help finding a woman accused of beating and kidnapping her teenage son.
  Police say Genoveva Fazio became angry at the 14-year-old, accusing him of molesting his younger brother. They say she repeatedly punched and kicked the teen, then wrapped him in a large blanket and tied him up.

  ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) – Energy companies plan to double the generating capacity of wind farms in eastern New Mexico over the next few years thanks in part to federal subsidies and improvements in technology.
