• Golden Gate Bridge to hire more officers to prevent suicides

  SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (AP) — Five new officers will be hired to patrol the Golden Gate Bridge specifically to search for people looking to jump to their death.
  The bridge board last week approved adding the new bridge officers to the patrol, bringing the total to 22. They are expected to be working on the span in about two months, the Marin Independent Journal reported Sunday (http://bayareane.ws/2ejyhG1).

• Albuquerque man sentenced to 4 years for girlfriend’s killing

  ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) – An Albuquerque man who admitted to killing his estranged girlfriend last year will only serve four years in prison.
  The Albuquerque Journal reports  that 37-year-old Micah Criswell received the sentence this week as part of a plea agreement.
  Criswell pleaded guilty last month to voluntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence.
  Police say 34-year-old Tannis Johnson was found unconscious in November 2015.

  SAN DIEGO, Cali. (KRQE) – San Diego is in mourning after a man drove a pickup truck off a bridge killing four people who were at a festival below.
  Police said 25-year-old Richard Anthony Sepolio who suffered major injuries in the crash was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
  Authorities said he lost control of the truck, struck a guardrail, and plunged 60 ft. onto a park.
