  ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Some local school children are trying to raise the spirits of a police K-9 badly injured during an attack. Students from Los Ranchos Elementary made get well soon cards for Rex.
  The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department K-9 was stabbed and beaten with a baseball bat by a suspect earlier this week. Rex underwent surgery and is recovering at home with his handler.

  ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Police responded to a scary situation at a northeast Albuquerque apartment complex Thursday. A call went out just before 1 p.m. that a 9-month-old had fallen from the second story of an apartment at the Desert Willow Apartments near Jefferson and Alameda.
  Police confirm the child was taken to the hospital. They say it appears the child will be OK and they say it does not appear anything criminal happened.

  ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Multiple lanes on eastbound I-40 at San Mateo were closed Thursday afternoon following a crash.
  Police responded to the accident just before 12:30 p.m. Thursday. During that time, eastbound I-40 was reduced to one lane, causing traffic to back-up.

• Convicted murderer found guilty in 2nd murder case

  ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A convicted murderer has been found guilty of a second murder.
  Jesus Suarez shot and killed Robert Kinter during a home invasion back in 2013. That same day, he shot and killed 38-year-old Michael Garris.
  Suarez had already been found guilty in the Garris murder case and on Thursday, Suarez was also found guilty for the murder of Kinter.
