• Intel cutting hundreds of positions in Rio Rancho

  RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – KRQE News 13 has learned that Intel is cutting about 200 jobs at its Rio Rancho plant.
  Sources say that Intel will cut those positions through lay offs, retirements and transfers. According to KRQE News 13 sources that could depend on how many workers opt for retirement before June.

• Lobo football player facing DWI charges after falling asleep at the wheel

  ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A Lobo football player was busted for aggravated DWI. Michael Walsh, 22, was arrested late Saturday night.
  According to the criminal complaint, Walsh was in his car on the I-40 Juan Tabo off-ramp when an officer noticed he sat through multiple light cycles. Police say Walsh was asleep behind the wheel. He failed field sobriety tests and blew at least a .16 which is twice the legal limit.

  ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A convicted murderer is on trial again for murder in a separate case.
  Jesus Suarez shot and killed Robert Kinter during a home invasion back in 2013. That same day, he shot 38-year-old Michael Garris.
  Garris was found in the back of an SUV in the South Valley. In the Garris case, Suarez was found guilty of several charges including second degree murder and burglary.

  The Petroglyph Animal Hospital says someone found a dog covered in quills near Coors and Montano.
  They say they were able to remove the quills and report he’s now resting comfortably.
