  ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The City of Albuquerque’s Environmental Health Department has issued a health alert due to blowing dust.
  The alert is in effect from 3:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. Friday.
  The Environmental Health Department is advising people with respiratory and heart diseases to limit outdoors activities. The department also provided the following guidelines:
  Keep windows and doors closed. If needed for comfort, use air conditioners or heating systems on recycle/recirculation

  SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California lawmakers on Thursday approved the nation’s highest statewide minimum wage of $15 an hour to take effect by 2022 after it was hailed by Democrats as an example to the nation as it struggles with a growing gap between rich and poor.

• Small plane crashes 8 miles south of Shiprock; Pilot injured

  SHIPROCK, N.M. (AP) – Authorities say a small plane has crashed eight miles south of Shiprock and the pilot has been airlifted to a hospital.
  New Mexico State Police say the plane was landing at the Shiprock airport about noon Thursday when it got caught in a crosswind and was pushed off the runway.
  The plane caught an edge and flipped.
  The Cessna 180D reportedly is registered to a company out of Durango, Colorado.

  RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Virginia State Police say two troopers responding to a shooting at a Richmond bus station and a civilian have been taken to a hospital.
  Spokeswoman Corinne Geller said the shooting suspect was in custody Thursday afternoon. She had no details on the condition of the troopers or the civilian. It was not clear if the three had been shot or had received other injuries.

  LAS CRUCES, NM (KRQE) – A driver is recovering from injuries after a semitrailer crashed on I-25 spilling hundreds of plastic soda bottles.
  It happened Tuesday morning north of Las Cruces. According to the Las Cruces Sun News, the semitrailer veered off the interstate into an arroyo. Debris and soda bottles were still being cleared from the area Wednesday afternoon.
