Lorene E. Alford, 92, passed away Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, in Houston. Lorene was born May 7, 1923, in Van Buren and lived in Van Buren and Fort Smith most of her life. In recent years, she made her home in Houston, living with her daughter. She owned several hair salons in Fort Smith during her 60-year career before retiring in 2003 at the age of 80.
