An investigation has been launched into a sickening attack on two schoolgirls by bullies who humiliated and assaulted them in Northfield. A video circulating on social media showing the attack – believed to have happened on Saturday night in Hilary Grove – has been viewed more than six million times.Detectives have already spoken to two of the group involved – including a male youth who filmed the incident – and plans are in place to arrest the two female offenders. -

A drugs courier has been jailed for six years after he was caught on the M6 in Birmingham with £3.5m of cocaine hidden in panels in his van.Joseph Burns’ Peugeot Partner van had already been identified by police as possibly carrying drugs on board and when it was seen in Farnborough, Surrey, on 12 May, observations for the vehicle were circulated to police forces along its suspected route back to Merseyside. -
