Police have condemned cruel thieves who burgled the home of a World War II veteran who was being treated in hospital and stole cherished service medals.
Willian Fearn, 97, was being treated in hospital when the burglary happened at his Hodge Hill home sometime between Thursday 2 July and yesterday (6 July). -

Appeal tribunal rules force was lawful to use A19
An employment tribunal appeal has today (July 8) ruled that a regulation requiring some West Midlands Police officers with more than 30 years’ service to retire was lawful.A total of 499 officers filed claims for indirect age discrimination having left the force between 2010 and 2014 under A19 which was introduced by the force as part of austerity measures to help it meet funding cuts of around £130-million.
