    Images have been released of a woman police need to trace after rare, valuable coins were stolen from an elderly man as he packed up his shopping at an Erdington supermarket. While the 78-year-old was at the tills of Farmfoods, bagging up his shopping, he inadvertently left a bag he’d taken in with him on the conveyor belt.

  • Man jailed for flouting race hate banning order

    A 25-year-old man from Wednesfield has been sentenced to eight months in prison after flouting a court order that banned him from making extreme racist comments online.Darren Fletcher, from Kitchen Lane, was told by Judge John Warner at Wolverhampton Crown Court today (Friday May 1) that he had "deliberately, defiantly and fragrantly disobeyed the order", and that anything less than a custodial sentence would have been a "green light to carry on".

    A burglar who broke into the home of a blind pensioner, rummaging through her possessions as she slept, has been jailed after West Midlands Police traced him from saliva left on a beer bottle.Polish national Patryk Filipski, of no fixed address, broke into the 89-year-old’s Handsworth Wood house in the early hours of 26 February having prised open patio doors with a crowbar.

    A gunman who shot at another man outside Pulse nightclub in Dudley Road, Brierley Hill, has been jailed for ten years. Following a hearing at Birmingham Crown Court today (1 May 2015) Taniyha Beckford aged 35 (24/04/1980) of Duchess Road, Ladywood, Birmingham was sentenced to ten years imprisonment by His Honour Judge Murray Creed.
