• New CCTV clues in bid to trace driver who hit 93-year-old woman

  Police investigating a hit-and-run that left a 93-year-old woman seriously hurt have issued a second image of the suspect vehicle caught on camera minutes before the collision.Isobel Rawes was struck as she crossed Stratford Road, Shirley, on March 24 at 11.50am. The new image shows the Chrysler Voyager – believed to be a 2001-2004 style model – travelling in Stratford Road opposite Shirley post office at 11.47am that morning. • Missing Walsall pensioner found dead in canal

  A body found in a Black Country canal this morning has been confirmed to be that of missing Walsall pensioner Sidney Edlin.Police had issued several appeals for sightings of Mr Edlin after he went missing from his home in Rowlands Avenue, Bentley, last Thursday (Apr 2). But sadly his body was found in a stretch of the Wyrley & Essington canal near Leamore Lane having been spotted by a passer-by at around 10.50am this morning (Apr 6). His death is not being treated as suspicious.

• Coventry community centre destroyed by arsonists

  An investigation has been launched to find arsonists who attacked a Coventry community centre overnight - causing damage estimated at around £100,000.Police were called to the Eburne Neighbourhood Learning Centre, off Deedmore Road in Wood End, at 11.22pm last night (April 5) where they discovered a large fire that's believed to have been started deliberately. Coventry Police are appealing for witnesses.
