• Witnesses sought after Kingswinford machete attack

    A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following an assault in a Kingswinford park in the early hours of this morning (21 March).

    Police were despatched to the High Street after ambulance crews were called to treat a man with serious arm injuries, at around 2.10am.
  • Walsall man arrested after public CCTV appeal

    A Walsall man has handed himself in to police after CCTV stills were released in connection with an assault in the town.

    A 35-year-old man contacted police after seeing the images circulated in the local media. He was arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent and released on bail pending further investigation.
  • Twelfth arrest over Coventry club murder

    A twelfth man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Daniel Kirkwood at a Coventry nightclub a week ago.

    The 21-year-old was arrested at a Birmingham police station on Friday evening (20 March) on suspicion of the 18-year-old’s murder. He remains in custody this afternoon.
  • Robbers jailed after being caught red-handed with cash box

    A pair of Birmingham robbers have been jailed for 14 years after West Midlands Police caught them red-handed with a cash box they’d snatched from a security guard.
     
    It took less than 30 minutes for officers to trace Theodore Mullings-Fairweather and William Mooney to a Ladywood industrial estate following the robbery outside Tesco Express in Bristnall Hall Road, Oldbury, on 18 July last year.

  • Police return Commonwealth gold to Kelly Sotherton

    Police have returned a Commonwealth Gold medal that was stolen during a burglary to former athlete Kelly Sotherton.

    The medal was found in a Sutton Coldfield post box by postman Martyn Siviter after an appeal for its return was made on BBC One show Crimewatch.
  • Police appeal for caller to get back in touch after a gun is dumped in Birmingham

    Police investigating footage of two men seen dumping a gun outside an address in Balsall Heath, are urging a man who called with information to call back.

    The man contacted officers saying he had information, after CCTV footage of two men caught dropping the firearm in Cannon Hill Road was released earlier this month.
  • Pensioner injured in Tipton mobility scooter collision

    Police are appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision after a pensioner was knocked from his mobility scooter in Tipton on Friday morning (20 March).

    The 88-year-old man was crossing Toll End Road on his mobility scooter when he was involved in a collision with a vehicle. He was knocked from his scooter, causing him serious injuries. He is being treated in hospital where his condition is described as stable.
  • Man in court accused of McDonalds robbery

    A Birmingham man is due to appear in court this morning, accused of robbing a city McDonalds.

    Michael Lynch was arrested on Friday morning (20 March) by detectives investigating a raid at the Fort Retail Park on 8 March.

  • Man charged with Coventry sexual assault

    A man will appear in court today, charged with the rape of a woman in Coventry city centre earlier this month.

    Earlier this week detectives appealed for information in relation to the attack, which happened on Moat Street car park in the early hours of Saturday 14 March.
  • Inquiry launched after man injured in Aston

    An investigation has been launched after man was found collapsed with stab wounds in Aston this afternoon (21 March).

    Emergency services were called to Upper Thomas Street shortly before 12.30pm after a man, aged in his 20s, was found with serious injuries.
