    The woman, who was with a young child, carried out a sustained attack on the youngster in broad daylight.

    A 16-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital after being involved in a collision with a police car last night (Wednesday 18 March).

    The teenager, from the Kingstanding area of Birmingham, was struck as he crossed Sutton New Road outside Erdington police station shortly after 9pm.

  • Police search for missing Birmingham teen

    Birmingham police are searching for a young teen who has been missing since Saturday (14 March). 

    Alisha Buchanan, aged 14, went missing from her temporary home in Stockport, Cheshire, but is believed to have made her way back to her hometown of Birmingham and could be in the Nechells, Lozells and Aston areas or the city centre.

    CCTV has been released of a man and woman sought by detectives after a nightclubber had his kneecap broken during a vicious assault in Walsall town centre.

    The 32-year-old had spent most of the evening in the pub, celebrating the festive season, before starting to walk home in the early hours of Sunday 21 December.

    A man who killed his partner after a night of drinking and then claimed to emergency services that she had fallen down the stairs, has been jailed for five years.

    Edward Metcalfe, aged 35, from Riverside Crescent, Hall Green, was sentenced after being found guilty of killing Tracy Topliss in November 2013.

  • CCTV clues to Erdington bus blaze culprit

    Police have released CCTV of the moment a young man set light to newspaper on a double decker bus in a bid to trace him.

    The lad appears to use a lighter to set a corner of the paper alight before calmly getting up and leaving at the next stop.

    The blaze took hold on the rear seat of the upper deck of the number 904 in Erdington around 4pm yesterday on Tuesday 17 March, as fire crews raced to the High Street.
