    A 13-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of being involved in an assault that’s left a football fan fighting for his life.

    The schoolboy was arrested from an address in Wolverhampton’s East Park just before 5am this morning (March 12) and is being questioned about the assault on a Watford supporter following last Saturday’s match at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

    Rape reporting in the West Midlands is on the rise as new statistics show a growing number of victims are finding the confidence to disclose sex offences police.

    Statistics in a Rape Monitoring Group (RMG) report out today (March 12) show that West Midlands Police received 878 complaints of rape in 2013-14 which represents a 13 per cent increase on the previous year.
  • Police seek three in connection with Coventry club attack

    Police are hunting three men who attacked a clubber who they’d earlier been chatting with. 

    The victim and two of his attackers had met inside JJ’s nightclub at the Skydome on Croft Road in Coventry city centre before being thrown out. 

    After a friendly exchange the mood soon changed as the two men were joined by a third who all set about the 24-year-old from the Stoke area of the city.

    Angela Jenkinson was reported missing just after 6.30pm yesterday evening (Wednesday 11 March) by worried relatives who had spent the morning looking for their loved one.   • Four arrested after Wednesbury road rage attack

    Four men were arrested on the M6 in Staffordshire on yesterday (11 March) after a man was assaulted in an apparent road rage attack in Wednesbury. 

    The 64-year-old victim pulled over in Portland Street and the occupants of a silver Mercedes Vito van attacked the man leaving him with a fractured eye socket and a broken nose and jaw. He was taken to hospital as a result of his injuries. 
  • Bus passenger urged to come forward after teen hammer attack

    Detectives investigating a hammer attack which left a teenage boy in a coma are urging a witness who was waiting at a nearby Hodge Hill bus stop to come forward.

    Immediately after the attack a woman who had been waiting at a nearby bus stop on Coleshill Road approached the boy’s girlfriend and handed wipes to the teenager to help tend to his wounds, before she then got onto a National Express bus, serving either the number 28, 94, 56 or 70 routes.
