A Birmingham sex offender, who subjected three young girls to years of abuse, has been sentenced to 17 years in jail for a string of historic offences.
Gary Jukes, of Highters Road, Warstock was sentenced after pleading guilty at an earlier hearing to sexually abusing children over a period of 21 years, between 1976 and 1997. -

Police focus on criminals with additions to camera network
Police are increasing the pressure on the region’s major criminals as they introduce new state of the art automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras on major routes across the West Midlands.
The new overt cameras will be situated at 16 different locations across the West Midlands. In a first for the force, they will be using 3G technology to capture and transfer images of vehicles which are of interest to the police. -

Two men are now in police custody after the drugs raids were executed simultaneously at three different addresses in College Gate just after 6am. -
Lorry drivers’ near miss as bricks thrown from Black Country bridge
Police are investigating two instances of criminal damage after objects were thrown from bridges along the Black Country Route.
The first incident took place around 9pm on 25 February in Bradley where an unknown object was thrown from the bridge at the Vulcan Road Island. The 69-year-old lorry driver was travelling towards Walsall when the object came smashing through the windscreen.
