Two officers injured after brick thrown at police from bridge
Two police officers were hurt after a large brick was thrown from a Coventry bridge and smashed through a police car windscreen.
The officers were responding to an emergency call at around 11.40pm on Sunday 15 February and were driving along the city’s ring road, when a coping stone was hurled from a bridge, hitting the windscreen.
A 49-year-old police sergeant and a 27-year-old police constable, both men, were taken to hospital and treated for facial injuries. -

Birmingham drug dealers jailed
Two Birmingham drug dealers who used the Midlands motorways to transport drugs have been jailed.
The court heard how the pair travelled from Manchester after visiting an address and were stopped by police on the M6 near to Hilton Services on 5 November 2013.
Following a search of the car they found a carrier bag stuffed with almost £50,000 worth of heroin hidden under the front passenger seat.
