    Staff at a Wolverhampton hairdressers cut short a bag snatcher’s getaway after teaming up to catch the thief - and have now received a police award for their bravery.

    Cruel Jason Hall barged over an 83-year-old woman and her 86-year-old husband, who is blind, in Bilston Street last January before running off with her handbag.

  • Motorist suffers head injury after being hit with a rake in road rage attack

    Police are urgently seeking the whereabouts of two men who assaulted a motorist after a road rage incident in Dudley yesterday morning (28 January).

    Two vehicles pulled up on Meadow Road just after 9am and a row erupted between the occupants. The driver of a red Transit van took a garden rake from his vehicle and hit the driver of a silver Vauxhall Vectra, leaving him with a deep laceration.

    A cabbie has narrowly escaped prison for trying to palm off speeding points onto another driver − a man police discovered was not in the country at the time having been deported three years earlier! 

    Abid Manzoor, from Essendon Grove in Alum Rock, triggered three speed cameras within the space of six weeks whilst working for a private hire firm.

    A CCTV clip released today shows that it can take as little as six seconds for a car crook to break into a van.

    The video shows two men targeting a van, breaking in and stealing the contents, which could be thousands of pounds worth of tools.

    The CCTV has been released as part of a campaign to tackle a rise in theft from vans − particularly in Dudley, Walsall, Wolverhampton and Sandwell.

    CCTV images of a man suspected of sexually assaulting a teenager in a Dudley shopping centre have been released by police.

    The 18-year-old was in a public toilet block at Cornbow shopping centre in Halesowen on 21 November when a man in his late 40s approached him and touched him inappropriately. He challenged the offender who calmly walked out of the toilets and was last seen heading towards the bus station.
