• Police hunt schoolgirl sex attacker with “distinctive, broken nose”

  Police are hunting a man said to have a distinctive broken nose after a girl was sexually assaulted as she made her way to school.
  
  The man approached the 13-year-old pupil in Popes Lane, Kings Norton, at around 9.15am yesterday (Jan 16) before carrying her into adjacent woodland. It's believed to be an isolated incident and police have launched an investigation to track the offender.

• Opportunist thief sought after bank machine theft

  Police have issued images of a man suspected of stealing £300 from a Birmingham pensioner’s bank account after he accidentally left his card at a cash machine.
  
  The 70-year-old used the ATM outside Union Street's Santander Bank in the city centre and walked away having made a withdrawal. Realising he'd left his card he returned moments later...but instead of finding his card discovered a receipt showing £300 had been taken.
