• Wolverhampton drug chief jailed

    The kingpin of a drugs gang was yesterday jailed for 16 years after spearheading a multi-million pound network between Wolverhampton and Aberdeen.

    Karl Wilson, 58 previously of Yew Tree Lane, Tettenhall, was extradited from Jamaica last year to face charges of conspiracy to supply heroin and cocaine and four counts of money laundering between 2000 and 2009
  • Police name Coventry collision victim

    Police have named a man killed in a collision on Tollbar Island in Coventry on Tuesday evening (7 January) as Andrew Wolfindale from Walsgrave.

    The 35-year-old cyclist was struck by an HGV at around 6pm and died from his injuries in hospital later that evening.  
  • Police hunt suspect after robbery attempt

    Police are searching for a man wanted in connection with the attempted robbery of a Wolverhampton post office.

     

    Leon Friedman, aged 28 from Grosvenor Close, Bushbury is thought to have been involved in a foiled raid on a cash delivery van at the post office in Showell Circus on 25 September.
  • Motorway cops spread road safety message at performance car show

    Motorway police will be joining some of motorsport’s elite to spread the road safety message to performance car fans in Birmingham this weekend. 

    Officers from Central Motorway Police Group will again be exhibiting, for free, at Autosport International at the NEC this Saturday and Sunday (10 and 11 Jan), to offer road safety advice and unique ‘dangerous driving’ experiences to drivers at the show.

  • Driver sought in Wolverhampton hit-and-run

    An investigation has been launched after a woman was seriously injured in a collision with a car, which failed to stop, in Wolverhampton last night (7 January). 

    Police were called to Newhampton Road East at 11.30pm after a car, believed to be a Ford Fiesta, was in collision with a female pedestrian.

    The woman was found lying in the road, near to the junction with Park Avenue, with serious head and arm injuries. She remains in hospital in a stable condition.
  • Concern for Rhys Millerchip, 14, missing from Sussex - may be in Coventry

    Police in Sussex are appealing for information about missing 14-year-old Rhys Millerchip, who they believe may be in Coventry. 

    Rhys has not been seen since he left Seaford town centre to walk to his nearby address last Tuesday morning (30 December).
