  Two police officers suffered leg fractures when a car shunted into a vehicle they’d pulled over on Dudley Port in the early hours of Sunday morning (4 Jan).
  
  The male PCs – part of the Community Action Priority Team (CAPT) in Sandwell – stopped a vehicle at 1.30am on a routine check and were speaking to the driver when a blue VW Golf GTi collided with the stationary Mercedes.

• Schoolboy charged with attempted murder after bus stabbing

  A schoolboy has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing on a Black Country bus that left a man in hospital with multiple knife wounds.
  
  The 14-year-old, from Dudley, is accused of stabbing the 29-year-old in Burton Road on Friday (Jan 2) after a row broke out on board a bus and spilled into the street.

• Robbery suspects caught on camera during tower block attack

  Two men are the focus of a police inquiry into an attempted robbery and assault inside a Birmingham tower block.
  
  Images of the suspects have now been released by police investigating the crime, which happened in the foyer of Clydesdale Tower, Holloway Head.
  
  The 45-year-old was accosted as he stepped out of the lift of the tower block at around 6pm on 16 November. The two men are believed to have been waiting for him and grabbed him as he entered the communal area.

  Police are appealing for information after an elderly woman was robbed of money and sentimental items just days before Christmas.
  
  The 80-year-old was left severely shaken with cuts and bruises after the nasty attack which happened at around 4:15pm on Monday 22 December on Foley Road in Ward End.

• Man arrested over Stechford brick attack

  Detectives investigating a brick attack, which left a Birmingham man critically injured, have arrested a local man in connection with the assault.
  
  The 24-year-old was detained at a police station in Birmingham last night on suspicion of attempting to murder a 40-year-old man in Stechford on December 20.
