• Police continue with patrols as officers issued with security reminder

    West Midlands Police continue to patrol the region’s streets while officers have once again been reminded of the need for vigilance as the national security threat remains severe.

     

    The force have implemented additional security measures to ensure the safety of all officers and staff after receiving anonymous information yesterday (Monday 8 December).
  • Detectives name woman found dead at Nechells flat

    Police investigating the death of a woman in Nechells, Birmingham have named her as Andrea Carr.

     

    The 23-year-old's body was found after officers were called to a property in Nechells Park Road on Thursday 4 December.
     
    Her death is being treated as murder, but a post mortem has proved inconclusive and further tests will be carried out to establish the cause of death.


     
  • 45 years jail for robbery trio who held young family at gun-point

    Three men have been jailed for a total of more than 45 years after holding a young family at gun-point and staging a mock execution to scare them into handing over valuables.

     

    Anthony Campbell, Isa Rahman and John Woodfield broke into an address in Wyrley Way, Erdington, in the early hours of June 13 brandishing a pistol and sawn-off shotgun before tying up the family and threatening to shoot them.
