Firefighters are tackling a blaze at a paper recycling factory in Forest Town.Crews were called to the Rettenmaier UK premises on Strawberry Way at around 10.50am after reports of a fire in shredding machinery.Three crews from Mansfield, Edwinstowe and Ashfield were called to the scene, and used hydraulic rescue equipment to access the building before using hose reel pumps to battle the flames. -

A 31-year-old man was taken to hospital with an injury to his face after he was assaulted in Long Eaton.The attack took place in Russell Street at 12.45pm on Tuesday.The victim was taken to Royal Derby Hospital, but his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.He was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday afternoon.Parts of nearby Shakespeare Street and Russell Street were cordoned off while police investigated the assault.Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack - call 101. -
