  Croydon rail commuters who travel via Clapham Junction or Waterloo are being urged to avoid the stations for the next month.Network Rail has issued a plea for passengers using the two busy stations to either travel at different times of the day, or consider working from home when work starts on a major upgrade at Waterloo on August 5.Platforms 1 to 10 will close at Waterloo from that date until August 28 so that engineers can extend them, enabling longer trains to run from the station.As well as

Croydon Cat's Protection group says there has been "no interest at all" from anybody in adopting four-month-old siblings Ailie and Albert, a pair of black and white kittens.
