  A man has been rushed to hospital with head injuries following an assault in Croydon town centre this afternoon (Friday).Police and paramedics were called to George Street at about 1pm just outside the Paddy Power and Cex Entertainment shops.Part of the pavement in George Street, near its junction with Park Lane and Wellesley Road, was cordoned off by police while officers made their enquiries.Police say they are still trying to trace a suspect involved in the assault, but have not released any.
