A fire on the roof of a Thornton Heath block of flats was caused by an overheated solar panel. Orbit, which owns the property, said an initial investigation found this as the cause, and they are "putting measures in place" to stop it from happening again. Fire crews were called to Woodville Road, at the junction with High Street, last Thursday (June 15) to smoke coming from the flats and found solar panels and some of the cladding alight.
