  Wetherspoon's has purchased the freehold of The George pub in Croydon for a reported fee of £4 million.The building the pub, located on George Street, is in was reportedly previously owned by BMO Real Estate Partners but it has recently been revealed Wetherspoon's has bought the freehold of the site, meaning the pub chain is now the permanent tenant. When asked about the sale, a Wetherspoon's spokesman confirmed that the pub chain had purchased the freehold so now owns the site The George.
