  A police officer attached to Croydon borough sexually assaulted a young girl when he was a teenager, a court has heard.Deen Nawol, 23, is accused of sexually assaulting the young girl, who cannot be identified, in south London.Nawol, who lives in Crystal Palace, denies two counts of sexual assault. The girl does not remember exactly when the alleged sex attacks took place, though they are said to have happened between July 1, 2009 and August 31, 2011, when she was either six or seven.In a video.

  An elderly woman escaped being held hostage by a man in Norbury after he fell asleep in her home.A man pretending to be a gas meter reader falsely imprisoned the woman in her own home in Dunbar Avenue on Monday morning.He gained access to the pensioner's home at about 7.50am and when she became suspicious, he physically restrained her causing her to fall to the floor, a Metropolitan Police spokesman said. The man then kept her in her home without allowing her to leave for about two hours before.
