Police riding horses have been on patrol in Croydon town centre this evening. The high visibility police presence comes days after a huge fight in which a 14-year-old schoolboy was stabbed in the neck. A police spokesman said this evening that he wasn't able to say whether or not horseback patrols were a specific tactic to encourage children to disperse from the town centre before getting into trouble.
