  Police have responded to reports on social media that groups of men dressed as firemen in Thornton Heath and Norbury are robbing members of the public at gunpoint at their front doors.The reports, circulated on Facebook, said the men dressed as firemen before knocking on people's doors and robbing them at gunpoint.   Police in Croydon closed a road in Thornton Heath as officers investigated a "disturbance" on the street. A message posted on the Croydon MPS Twitter account said officers were on the scene of an incident in Langdale Road at 12.25pm on Saturday, and had cordoned off the road while they investigated. It is not clear when the road was reopened.
