Man jailed after conning two elderly women out of thousands
A man who tricked two Croydon women in their 80s into handing over their bank cards and pin numbers to fund his own spending spree has been jailed.Hamit Hamit, 33, of no fixed address, was found guilty of eight counts of fraud by false representation which took place in April this year.He was sentenced on Friday, October 21 at Croydon Crown Court and received a total of five years and four months in prison.The court heard how his two elderly victims, aged 82 and 83, were deceived by phone calls. -
