A teenager who tried to rob a woman of her gold chain outside Croydon Magistrates' Court has been banned from going south of the river Thames.Kevin Hawkins, 18, tried to grab a gold chain from the neck of the woman as she was walking past the court on September 19.But he was caught almost straight away when a passing police officer noticed the crime.At Croydon Crown Court today he admitted attempted robbery.Recorder of Croydon Judge Warwick McKinnon, who took the extraordinary step of deferring. -
